And if that doesn't work, get a third job. And if that still doesn't work, just kill yourself. Because the rich and powerful have to have EVERYTHING.
You don't think people that are in the top 10% work hard or worked hard to get to where they are? Pathetic.
If you want to better yourself do it, no one is stopping you, it's a free country. But to sit around and complain about not being paid enough is complete BS. If you don't like the pay better yourself and gun to make more. This is a democracy not a socialistic society.
i don't think it's the employees' fault and it's unfair to blame them. $9 an hour is RIDICULOUS. when will workers get paid a reasonable, living wage? this guy is an activities coordinator at a nursing facility. for that they consider $9/hr sufficient? please don't blame him for having a family or trying to pay his bills. the real problem is in this day and age people are still getting paid $9 an hour in america.
There have always been people who were paid low wages. But until they were able to earn enough to support a family, they usually didn't.

Most lucked out and were born into the right family and the right circumstance. I guarentee the average burger flipper is working a lot harder than thet are.

I'm not going to waste my time with your nonsense. Congratulations on pissing on people that worked hard for their standard of living, way to go slugger.

No they don't work at all for their money. They inherit their money. Then buy rental property with it, and rent it out to poor SOBs who work their asses off at minimum wage jobs to make the rich richer, and get nothing for themselves.

You honestly think renting is that easy? Your naivety and lack of knowledge should be explored in the Real Estate thread, FYI it's not that easy.
I don't understand why the guy put himself in so much debt. IMO if you wanna play it safe start out in say...any other city besides LA and NYC. Some place where you won't get screwed over by living cost. Save up money, get solid income, big money etc. THEN move to LA/NYC and enjoy it instead of worrying about the amount of food(if any) that gets put on the dinner table.
As opposed to pissing on people who work hard for their standard of living and still only earn $9 an hour, I suppose.
Minimum wage needs to go up. "Take a second job" is not an answer. There aren't enough jobs to go around the first time, and most of them pay crap.
As for stories of poverty, my first job was for $1.65 an hour. Part time on that I could scrape by. Full time was a decent honest living. I worked my way through college on minimum wage jobs. Paid my own tuition, rent, everything. Nothing from the family that kicked me out when I turned 17. You cannot do that today.
"Wait until you can afford it" is what the rich told their servants in all those British period dramas you all love so much. Servants were expected to work 18 hour days, be constantly on call, and were prohibited in most cases from "walking out" or getting married. Some older married women were employed as housemaids or cooks and they were expected to live in the servants quarters, maybe see their husbands on their half-day off every other week.
By paying low wages and requiring long hours, they were effectively prevented from EVER being "able to afford it".
You're using the same logic now. Create conditions whereby people will never be able to get ahead, no matter how hard they work - then blame them for being human and wanting the normal human things in life, such as companionship and children.
Wake up and smell the coffee, folks. Unless we fix our employment problems and get money circulating again, you're all going to be drinking chicory in between shining rich folks shoes.

Because everyone knows that in this country it's impossible to get scholarships or other financial aide to go to college or obtain some other type of training in order to get a better job so you can afford things you need (or children or fun things). How is this example even remotely like today's society?
