On the previous employer not a damn thing. No bonuses, no benefits whatsoever, no vacation pay.. The list can go on.

I often feel guilty. I got this job by luck, and by having cultivated a relentlessly cheerful persona for years. My work is fun, and I'm paid so very well. I look around and see others, at other firms or businesses, whose work is unpleasant or taxing, and who are not well-paid. It's such a crapshoot.

They buy us food sometimes.

I'm a private union and that's probably why most people stay in this job. The pay is okay and the benefits are great.

Paycheck is direct deposited on time. Pay and benefits are the only incentive I have to work. Anything else is just a bonus.

People are free to leave at anytime. People will leave. An employee's "happiness" is not the responsibility of any company.
The idea is when you develop people through training and experience, you want to keep them around because it will costs way more to train replacement employees, even if you can find someone with the same level of expertise.

A bidding contract, in which if I break, my life is forever ruin as if I had a felony.
