if you knew it was not a terminal degree, why did you get it without plans beyond it?
I think you're getting too ahead of yourself again. At the time, I was under the assumption that if you have a degree it would make you marketable regardless, and had hopes to get any good job as I thought my options would be open to any field since it shows you are accomplished. But I didn't know before graduating that what you study matters. Now do you have anything useful to say? If you don't, and keep assuming the worst, stop replying to these posts and I mean it and don't want to utilize any more useless energy on you. Complaining is easy, solutions aren't. Mod cut.

Reason: Personal attack.

Sport, would you consider going back for an associates in accounting or something related to computer science/ networking, cyber security?
My brother's undergrad is in it, he went to work for USAID after undergrad, then into a think tank as a research associate.
This seems much less menial and certainly more stimulating than a customer service environment, what exactly is usaid and how can one transition into a think tank?

I got ahead of myself? I didnt complete college without a checking my prospects with the degree first.
We did tell you the solution, you just dont like it. The solution is to work your way up to the job you want. The fact that you havent even said what you wanted to do shows you just dont care. You are still hoping a "good job" falls in your lap. Hoping is not a plan.
If you had asked I want to do X job, how does my poli sci degree help? Someone might have specific advice, instead you just want to know what jobs you can do? Go work retail or fast food.
I graduated with a Poli Sci degree in 2011. 2 years ago I went back to school for a post-bac program to get a certification to teach history. Not much out there unless you score a job w/a legislator's office or go to law school.

I sure hope the OP never complains about his student loan debt.
A student loan debt should be an investment and only fools throw money at an investment w/o researching what the return on that investment might be.
I am working my way up already, but still was curious what the degree can offer you UPON graduation.
because you have hindsight now, and you should know that a degree doesn't "offer" anything upon graduation. College is about the journey, the degree is just the paper saying you reached it. If you didn't get anything from the journey, it won't set you apart from anyone else. the skills/knowledge/experience is what college offers in "material" things, the social skills, network, field work are other aspects of college that isn't written into any syllabus
if you want to know what your degree can do for you, get some experience in something first then couple it to the degree. not the other way around, you can't match the degree to random experiences. go back for more school or learn new skills
Political science gives some credit to you in the field of history and economics. It's something I study a little in my spare time. It proves that you are an intelligent person who is capable of handling difficult concepts which might be out of reach to others, and I'd encourage you to evaluate the skills you gathered from your study, and consider fields like finance, debt, teaching, and last but not least marketing.
No I wouldn't return to study, the best education you will get will be trying out other industries and seeing how they are compatible with you. You may be working very entry level jobs and that might be because you are not researching your employment prospects clearly or confidently enough. If you can complete a degree then you DO have prospects.

Really? A work forum doesn't exist just so you can turn your nose up at other people. I come to CD because the posts here are usually quite informative and insightful.
