Well it turns out my supervisor called this morning to let everyone know the office is open but since my ringer was off I never got the call. Now I'm heading to work 2 hours late and had to cancel all the things I had planned today because I'm no longer off.

Why turn off your ringer, don't you have VM?

You are just never happy, are you? You are unhappy because you were given a day off that you didn't want and now you are unhappy because you get to work instead.

It's possible that all of your frequent lay-offs are becasue you are so malcontent at work. No one wants a disgruntled employee who unsettles the rest of the employees. It's something for you to think about, anyway, just in case the shoe fits.

Well for the starters the text message was incomplete that was sent last night. You are texting me letting me know the office is closed but don't state the reason. Then after sending the incomplete text yesterday you then send another text this morning saying we are open at 7:30am. Most people had their phones off because they thought they had a day off.

And I believe anyone would be nervous if they get a text saying the office is closed except for managers. Especially when you never received a text like that before. My ranting is toward my supervisor who doesn't know how to send a text message about the office being closed

OP, stop borrowing trouble. You're creating your own anxiety. Good grief....
If management feels there is something you need to know, they will tell you. Stop contacting other employees. You sound like a potstirring Debbie Downer.

You caught that also! Next we'll be reading a post on the unemployment forum how they got canned for complaining about the TP in the bathroom being 2 ply and not three ply. I think american companies just need to shut down completely and ship the work overseas. God do we have the worst whinny crybaby workforce.

My supervisor doesn't know how to send a text message to staff about work issues.

Are you management or senior staff? Perhaps management and senior staff were there to keep the place running and the non essential personal (nonessential meaning that they are not required to come to work in cases of emergency) could stay home. Perhaps there was a emergency or other work related situation that was able to be fixed in a timely manner so that the workers could come back to work earlier than planned.

It does seem strange for someone who seems to be as anxious as you are about work related issues, not to have been checking your messages more often.
