French is not the official language of Canada. It is only one of the official languages of Canada.

Well, we only have two: French and English.

This kinda makes it sound like we have several more, like Switzerland or India.

I believe French actually is the only official language of the DRCongo.

When I was driving to Niagara Falls, Canadian side with my wife and then nine and eleven year old children during early April 2007. Yes, I gave away my age, but I digress.

I pointed to the left side of the customs sign, which said "douane." I told my children that that was "Canadian." My younger son said "Daddy, that's French. Oh well, I couldn't convince them that Canadian was a language.

Looks like you had your kids 5-10 years before I did. We have so much in common!
