Washington DC area (including Maryland and Virginia) has cuisines from all over. Hard to say which is the most, I guess it's Chinese. But this area is also kind of known for it's Ethiopian food.
But you can find lots of Italian, Greek, Thai, Lebanese, Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, Mexican, Brazilian, Peruvian... I had Uzbek the other night. There probably aren't that many countries not represented in some form or fashion.
Foreign cuisine restaurants are the minority even in large cities in Italy and nearly absent in the province. Anyway, I have the impression that "chinese food" is a little bit declining, while "kebab" shops are becoming relatively common. For more refined palates, "sushi" restaurants are quite common too. At least, this is my impression for the Turin area.
