I have only being to the european and south east asian cities listed, worst is bangkok in my opinion. Ho Chi Min City is a shoking place for pedestrians!
I dont know the city name but I saw a video of some place in India and there was no traffic direction what so ever and cows were walking in the street too lol. I imagine that place has got to be the worst!
From experience Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Rome and Cairo are places where you take your life into your own hands every time you get behind the wheel. Mexico city was pretty bad too .
well, I guess there can be a whole lot of reasons to make someplace the "worst" - is it death-defying to drive there? Will you age visibly from sitting in traffic for hours going to/from someplace? Is it the stupidity of the people behind the wheel? I've seen how they drive in quite a few of the places, but....
I have to admit that I am voting for Cairo, although it did provide some amusement. I mean, we pay money to get in bumper cars in the States for entertainment... you just need to drive down the street in Cairo!
I remember being very entertained when they painted lines for the lanes on the Giza side of the Nile... I don't know why they bothered, except you knew for SURE that no one was driving in any lanes...
Where else can you drive and get hit with your "ticket bill" at the end of the year for however many lights you may have run or wrong ways you might have driven on a road? Do YOU remember where you were at 10:30 at night five and a half months ago to try and contest a ticket?
Someone should explain that cars now have alternators and that turning on the lights at night will not run down the battery...
A one-way street doesn't mean that you really are going only one way, so it's ok to drive down whatever street you want.
I still have nightmares from a drive on the Alexandria Desert Road as dusk was coming on... think of all the bad drivers in town, have them drive in the same kamikaze way at about 60 mph and you can guess the results.
I do miss racing that donkey when a light changed, though...
As for driving survival skills, actually, it was fairly easy to learn the rules... "might makes right", and you are only ever responsible for what is directly ahead of you... if it is on the side or behind you, it's someone else's concern!
