Hi All,
I lived at Belair near Sun City. I keep seeing a lot of construction at 521 near Sun City and Jim Wilson drive. Does anyone know what is being developed at those sites? Thanks in advance.

If it is just south of the Sun City entrance I hear that it is going to be retail and a public library.

The construction on the west side of 521 will be Carolina Commons--to include a Harris Teeter, CVS and other shops. It will not open until sometime in 2009, so don't hold your breath. Ground was also broken for a new library on the southern end of this site but I notice no progress whatsoever is being made on the construction. As far as the excavation on the east side of 521 at Jim Wilson, no one seems to know. Was that a building permit I saw posted on the site?

Cornerstone will rival Blakeney and be as large or larger.

No, Cornerstone will be at the northeast corner of 521 and Henry Harris. The site that is being cleared now is on the southeast corner. City of Life is about 2 miles north of this site.

And why do you say Cornerstone is on 521/Henry Harris?

I was there yesterday and could not figure it out. The parcel in question is almost directly across from Sun City. It has been cleared and they have a couple of signs up but nothing revealing the development yet. At least not that I saw.
