I first discovered Chef's Diet in 2011 through a Gilt City offer. At that time, the food and service were terrific. I then continued periodically for one week at a time and was still happy with everything. Mind you, it was never about weight loss for me. It was always about the convenience of having healthful meals delivered to my doorstep. I HATE COOKING!
Fast forward to February 2015 and I respond to a snail-mail postcard offering an incredibly affordable "Tasting Menu." Well, my goodness. Things have really gone downhill at Chef's Diet. Initially, I was told that my 3-day program would start on Monday, February 9, 2015. That morning, I excitedly opened my door expecting to see my insulated bag full of that day's delicious meals and snacks there. Nothing! That was a first: no call; no show; no email; no text. Nada. Finally, I called them. (Isn't that backwards?) I was told that, over the weekend, they switched their kitchen around and they had to postpone my program one week. Assuming that I believed this excuse (which I didn't), I asked the guy on the phone, "exactly when were you going to tell me about this schedule change? And what if I were going on vacay on the 16th?" Not cool.
Here we are on February 16th and guess what? No meal delivery. No call. No email. No text. Do these folks even know how to spell C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R S-E-R-V-I-C-E?
I just called the two phone numbers on their website and no one is home. Not even in the *sales* department, which you'd expect to be staffed-up to grab every potential customer, is answering the phones.
My advice to anyone considering whether to use Chef's Diet's service is to go elsewhere. There are a lot of companies in the fresh meal delivery space now, so why deal with one that is poorly run and unreliable? I'm disputing the charges on my credit card.
