One thing as someone who had a crappy home life growing up and an extra crappy father, one thing I hated coming up was being told whenever I did something that my mom didn't agree with she without fail uttered this phrase "you are just like your father!" That stung for reasons I will explain below.

My father was an alcoholic, super lazy, probably cheated on my mother, and gave little care to the fact he had a son. So when she said that phrase, she was saying I was no better...
