Driving from Columbus OHIO to Raleigh: how safe is the drive through West Virginia? Any advices? :)

Buddy Holly Fixed In A New Place In Lubbock

What I meant was a replica of the late, great Buddy Holly. Once upon a yesteryear, said replica was a fixture of a plaza across from the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. For many years, the Buddy Holly statue and the accompanying Walk of Fame were part of the experience in that location.

Driving through WV and Virginia (coming from Ohio) to North Carolina, where is the best place to stay (hotel)?
