What "MalaMan" means, after all?

MalaMan was a kind of joke that some people in Northeastern Brazil used in order to make fun of some other people, calling them "MalaMan" as a reference to superheroes like "Spider-Man", or "SuperMan". The real point after all was to call someone a "mala".

In this specific context, what "mala" means in Brazilian Portuguese? It's very hard to explain in English what "mala"...

The Spirit of God encourages each of us to advance -- drawing us ever closer to our Lord to move in power, and to take the Kingdom for the King! Our day is a day of swift shift; a spiritually radical revolution in our perspective is at the door. We expect God to display His mighty deeds in doing new things (Isaiah 48:6).

In Song of Solomon 2, the Lover (Jesus) is wooing His Beloved to a new place in verse 10, "Rise up, my beloved, my fair one, and come away," he invites.

He then goes on to declare that "the winter is past…the flowers are springing up, and the time of singing birds has come…the fig trees are budding, and the grapevines are in blossom," and then he repeats his invitation for her to arise and come away with him (Song of Solomon 2:13).
