I know C-D probably has millions of users come through every year, some that stick around and some that go as quickly as they came. But has anyone come to know of any long-time posters who have since passed away? Would it be appropriate for a dedication/memorial/hall of fame thread for some of these posters? I realize it would be difficult for us to know each member who has passed on, but surely some posters know these other posters beyond the forum. Thoughts?
Now does that mean these people have passed away and you were officially notified? Sorry if that's a dumb question. That's what it sounds like to me though.

We go to pretty extraordinary lengths to confirm a forum member's passing before designating them an Eternal Member. Some folks find it funny to make fake death reports, so we require independent confirmation from an outside source before making any changes.

Yes, we were notified they had died and had it confirmed. Sometimes by a link to an obituary, sometimes by other means.
