I think the plan was to get it so the liberals in the rest of the U.S. wouldn't mind getting rid of Alaska when it secedes. They'll be happy to be rid of Palin. It's working too.

LOL.

After reading the drivel of all the Google experts on Alaska these past few weeks, I'm beginning to like the idea of succession more and more.

That last one was quite a piece of work, though my all time favorite is one who thinks that everyone in the lower 48 should have a piece of the permanent fund. I was going to offer to send her the change in the ashtray of my truck, because that's about what it would be.

As I mentioned before, waiting until Tuesday to vote reinforces the issues against all candidates. For example, some the people Obama associated with in the past were anti-capitalist, and at least one was a member of the Communist Party US (his mentor who died in 1987). When Obama talks about wealth redistribution (2001), and "spreading the wealth around" (recently), that only emphasizes my points.

If Obama wins, then I can only hope that he will be good for the USA, and the same I can say about McCain. As a former military member, some of my commander in chiefs were Democrat, while others were Republican. Whoever wins is the one I support.
You must have been named for your uncle, Joe Raymond McCarthy. He too had a list of commies, all hiding under his bed, just like yours are.

Whlile I certainly don't disagree with either of those two points, this type of Beavis & Butthead stunt reference in the OP only serves to illustrate the intellectual emptiness and hypocrisy of the attacks coming from the "other side". Had an prank like this been pulled on Obama, I'm sure we would be hearing a chorus of outcries from the morally indignant demanding a full FBI investigation. Just like the recent stunt where someone hung a Halloween effigy of Palin in a noose in their front yard. Everyone thought that was a big joke. But we all know what would have happened had that been an effigy of a Black Obama hanging by the neck in a noose...!

I think it sounds like the governor.

I don't think Obama would have fallen for it. They gave her so many chances to catch on that it was just a joke. It would have been kind of cool if she'd turned it around on them, but to be fair she probably didn't want to take the chance. I'll bet she had a feeling something was up, though; how could she not?

Oh, you mean this:

However, despite Bruegel, distorted academic studies and the European media’s praise, the efficiency of the major Scandinavian economies is a myth. The Swedish and Finnish welfare states have been going through a long period of decline. In the early 1990s they were virtually bankrupt. Between 1990 and 1995 unemployment increased five-fold. The Scandinavian countries have not been able to recover.

While you cite the farce that is wiki, I cite reality.

Socialism is and has been a total failure. It is anti-American and stands in direct contravention of every principle that made this country great. I despise the fact that contemporary "progressives" are trying to turn this country into some nanny state hell-hole.

Ah, perhaps you are imagining things behind your keyboard, maybe suffering from high blood pressure and losing your patience.

I was born overseas, immigrated (legally, not like Obama's grandmother) to the US in the '60s, became a US citizen, and served in the military for over 20 years. I do understand what "wealth redistribution" is, since I lived through it.

The name "Ray" is only my Internet name. My real name has not resemblance whatsoever to it.

You don't have a clue Ray. "Wealth redistribution" as an economic policy is far older than "communism", and the two are not synonymous.

You get taken in by more scams than anyone with the possible exception of Moe, Curly and their brother Satch.
