Agree with you in that "wealth redistribution" is an "ideology" that later became a "Communist policy." Castro used very well, too.

How about Mr. Davis, Obama's menthor? He being a member of the Communist Party US is another scam I have fallen for? Is the "wealth redistribution" Obama spoke of in 2001 another scam?

It has been confirmed by Palin's campaign and is out on all the channels except - you guessed it - Fox News. I would have loved to forward it as a link from the troglodyte Drudge but (alas!) this piece of breaking news seems to have not made it to his cave yet.

I must confess, however, that this piece of Palin-shtick is not half as funny as her utterance yesterday that her First Amendment rights were being abused by the press! McCain deserves to lose for no other reason than putting this Neanderthal on the ticket.

Maybe those to who Obama wishes success should get off there lazy, overgrown backsides and get a job. Why should citizens that have worked hard to prosper and succeed be forced to subsidize those who would rather take a hand out than a hand up?

Oh, I forget it's patriotic to pay more taxes. Yep, that was the reason for the Boston Tea Party. We quickly forget the lessons that led to the formation of this great country.

I suggest if you wish to pay more taxes maybe a move to Canada should be in your future?

Any system of taxation, by definition, is a distribution of wealth. The fellows who are regurgitating Fox News talking points here have perhaps never opened a page of an economics textbook. After bringing down the American economic system to its knees, the Republicans are lecturing us on economy? What next? Are we going to have Hustler publishing tracts on the virtues of celibacy?

If you read your own article, you'll find they are the minority opinion in Europe. I guess the front page article by Alan Ahearne (Irish correspondent for the Brussels Journal) which says the letting the Irish real estate market fail is the "strong medicine" their economy needs.
Nobody who is serious is saying stuff like that.
Except for Larry Kudlow, but then he's a bozo.

Now, from the article referenced above:

"Although the transfers balance remained in deficit, mainly as a result of Sweden's contributions to the EU budget, the overall current-account surplus was larger than the trade surplus from 2003 to 2005. Most categories of services exports produced an improvement over this period, but the biggest contribution came from business services exports, followed by transportation and royalties and license fees.
Central government debt rose from 2002-2005 but fell between 2005 and 2007, and the debt is expected to continue falling in 2008 and 2009. As a percentage of GDP, public debt was 57% in 2000 and is expected to fall to 27% in 2009. In 2007 the central government had a surplus of $17.2 billion. For 2008 and 2009, surpluses of $17.4 billion and $17.7 billion are estimated. These figures show great improvement of the Swedish economy."

How's the old US of A stack-up versus those panty waste Swedes?

(Note: The irony of that last statement SHOULD need no explanation, but just might for some folks.)

Your citing of The Boston Tea Party is particuraly ironic.

Americans have always been the ultimate users- both people and government.

Examples: We consciously stole everything from the natives that we wanted; we also built this country largely on slave labor. The Brits were amazed that a bunch of slaveholders who whipped workers to death if they did not produce according to quota, would scream for "Liberty".

Also, the main cause of Brit taxes was the fact that London needed to recoupe the money it spent defending us colonials during the French and Indian war.
It also may be of some interest to know that the French revolution of 1789 was caused when the French Crown loaned the US of A money to fight the Brits, and we (you guessed it) refused to payback our legal debt.

Fritz Hollings of SC summed it up this way:

An American is someone who went to school under the GI Bill, got his house through a VA loan, works in a Defense Department facility, then one day takes Amtrak to D.C. to be in a protest over high taxes.

I have to jump in here.
We've only been in the state for just over a month, but did lots of research for about a year before the move.
Anyway, before arriving here I had pretty high thoughts of Palin. Now that we are here, the more I hear, see, and read, the less and less I can for her.

Just wanted to say that.
I completely understand. I didn't pay much attention to her at all as governor but when she became the VP pick and all of this unsavory stuff about her started surfacing....well, all I can say is that I'm glad it's not looking good for her to be anywhere near the White House.

Her freaky religion is highly disturbing:

Quote:
:
Sarah Palin's churches matter : not because people at Palin's churches speak in tongues or for any specific gestural or behavioral expression. These things are deeply felt and not properly mocked or stigmatized, Rather, Palin's churches matter because pastors in those churches espouse an aggressive form of Christian nationalism and also the doctrine that all forms of religious and philosophical beliefs other than their own are invalid and even under demonic influence.

Christians caught up in the Third Wave or New Apostolic Reformation tend to believe that all Christian sects and denominations are invalid and even under demonic influence because their theological substrate holds that when Adam and Eve sinned in The Garden, God withdrew his protective cover from the Earth and demons flooded in. Plain's churches are demon-haunted churches which tend to view the Catholic Church (especially) as well as all Protestant denominations as invalid and as manifestations of a "religious spirit" that's held to be demonic. Things devolve from there - the Third Wave stigmatizes much of Protestant and Catholic Christianity but it vilifies and literally demonizes Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and all non-Christian religions and belief systems as manifestations of "witchcraft", to be driven from the Earth by "spiritual warfare" and by a physical, end-time, purifying last-generation army.
Yikes.
