I think every house I've been in around Ketchikan has Johnny's Seasoning Salt somewhere in the cabinets. It's the best. I use it on just about everything but oatmeal.

Johnny's Seasoning Salt no added MSG (http://www.johnnysfinefoods.com/Seasoning-Salt--42oz-No-added-MSG_p_9.html - broken link)

Then when that won't do there is always bacon salt.

Bacon Salt

hehehe I run a sugarhouse kitchen and cook!! Have for 20 yrs and people drive freak'n 3 hours and stand in line for 2 1/2 to eat. I won't even go there on that one.
can give you a great homemade recipe but I gotta break it down as I mix by 5 gallon buckets, Have Whole Wheat PC, corn fritter recipe and waffle all my own recipes but like I said I gotta reduce them. Let me know how many you want to make at a time as i have a program that will re-calculate the recipe to the amount of servings!!

Flames, my problem is not the recipe, but cooking the little guys...I either don't have high enough heat, or too low...I have too much oil, or not enough...they are not consistent in size, shape or color, like I said...not a pretty site, but taste fine, I just prefer waffles which come out great the majority of the time, I like the little tunnels for all the goodness on top to sit and not slide off...Now that I have the stove with the griddle burner, I may have to get the cast iron griddle out and play with them...

Like I said cooking them for me is a pain, my burner doesn't have a temp gauge, so 350 on stovetop is like medium? Think I may stick with the waffles
