you can add terrible schools to the meth problem in BHC. I was actually approached by the undercover officers in that Datsun B-210 (from Into the Wild) while I was having a tire repaired on 95. I told them I really valued my sleep, and didn't partake........In this case the OP seems best suited for working at a Casino, so I think BHC would be his choice, because that's where the jobs are..sort of. Truly not working, I would consider Havasu, but I've met a lot of folks who are old, really old, that have great social lives in Laughlin, that plan their weeks around the flyers they get in the mail from the slot clubs/bingo/etc.. Some of them actually go to church in the casinos.

May I ask where you moved from? We just recently thought about moving to Kingman from So CA. Got to get out of here!!!! I'm going to start doing some research. I haven't been out there for 20 years! It's between there and LV.

OP here,

I thought I would give a little update. Thanks to everyone who giave me input.

Of the three cities, I am definitely now leaning toward Kingman. It just seems to have most of things I am looking for. I have found several apartments that will work for me in my price range, and they are in locations that will work well for walking to businesses. The people I have spoken with have all been very helpful and welcoming.

Right now, I am eyeing March or April for a possible move. Hopefully, if I cannot transfer with my job, I will be able to land something part time at a retail store, hotel, or restaurant within a few months.

I do have a few questions:

Since Kingman is still on the smaller side, I was just wondering how many things I may need will not be available. I don't mean shopping and restaurants, but other things. For example, as I stated in my original post, I receive Social Security Disability for my eye condition. None of the three cities have a Social Security office. It lists the closest to Kingman as Prescott, although Flagstaff would be easier to get to via bus or train if needed. Now I have only needed to visit an office in person once in the past 12 years, so I am hoping this won't make that big of a difference.

But what about other things like doctors and dentists? I don't currently seek any medical treatment other than a yearly eye exam, but are there doctors there if needed, or do you find yourself always going out of town?

Also, let's say I do get hired for a job in Kingman. Most employers will do a drug test. Do they have drug testing facilities locally, or willthey say "You have to travel to..." I have just never lived in a city this small, and since I don't drive, want to make sure I am considering everything.

Kingman. Summers arent nearly as nasty as the other two and there's actually some trees and grass around. Closer to Vegas if you're into that scene.
