OP again,

I am just curious how is cell phone coverage in the city of Kingman itself. It is hard to tell on some maps I've checked out? Are there any cell providers that you know of that do not have coverage there, or have bad coverage?

Sprint, A T & T, Verizon all work here. The Primary carrier is local Mohave Wireless which has the Verizon network agreement for the area.

Sprint worked Ok in Kingman, I gave up on them and went with AT&T for Bullhead tho.

I was in Kingman yesterday and stopped at the WalMart.

I say "WalMart" since that store is everywhere and seems to "show" the kinds of people who live near there.

Bullhead City: rough compared to LA or Scottsdale but def Ok.
Havasu: plastic pretty much like Scottsdale or LA
Kingman: scary like as in it make the Bullhead shoppers look almost "Beverly Hills". I had a similar feeling at the Kingman store like I would at the WalMart of Thomas near 40th St in Phoenix. It wasn't a "race" thing since it was mostly anglo with some American Indians, very few Chicanos or Black people and I'm def "anglo".

Default 3 cities, 3 completely different lifestyles

Been living in Kingman since late 2005, it`s the cheapest of the 3 cities in Mohave County, and it shows. There are nice areas though, and the people who live there tend to say positive things about the area. On the other hand, low prices equal a lot of low class people relocating here. Most of these areas are outside the city limits, (Butler, Birdland). Investors purchase mobile homes for under $10,000 and rent them to anyone. If you like conspiracy theories and guns, but despise the Government, you`ll be in good company. Not that all of these people are bad, but you get a sense of hatred here like no where else. There is also quite a large retiree and disabled population. If you need work, the unemployment rate is high, so have a backup plan. Not too many snowbirds in the winter, as the temps have gone down to as low as 9 since I`ve been here, with normal temps of low 50`s for the high, and mid 20`s for the low in winter. Summer average is highs in the 90`s - lows in the 60`s, a good 10 - 15 degrees cooler than the river cities. And we have wind here, LOTS of it, it the 15-30 mph range most of the year. If you have a good income, and can afford in the nicer areas (Rancho Santa Fe, Walleck Ranch, Western Ave area), Kingman might be a good choice if you don`t mind travelling for entertainment, dining, and shopping (and I don`t mean Walmart, Burger King, or the local movie theater). If your on a fixed income, it`s pretty cheap to purchase a trailer and live comfortably. Utilities are ridiculously cheap too! I have a small 900 sq ft home, and average $50 elec - $50 gas in the winter, and $120 - $15 in the summer. I have whole house A/C, and a lot of energy hogging electronics. So, it`s your choice, here`s a quick summery.

Havasu + classiest of the 3, most shopping, newest community, party town
- hot, snowbirds, party town, most expensive

Bullhead + night life (Laughlin), good shopping/restaurants, reasonably priced homes
- hot, windy, snowbirds

Kingman + cheapest homes, cooler in summer
- sketchy residents, windy, limited shopping , can get quite cold (ok for an ex New Englander like
myself, not so much for the warm blooded So Cal type)

It's like Kingman city is much like Bullhead City but Kingman has the "Butler" area which has its share of "PWT" and Bullhead has "Laughlin" which brings it up. Too; we in Bullhead also have Ft Mohave which doesn't hurt.
