Here is an update on the toll lanes. Estimated opening is the first quarter of 2017. The article also discusses the safety questions.

And the light poles they chose are hideous...tall pole with tiny little decorative arm for the light, totally out of scale...

Also there is a new sign bridge down there that is as crooked at the one near jimmy carter Blvd.

I'm going to beg GDOT to level up these gantries for years if that's what it takes.

They look like something you'd see on Hee-Haw.

Knowing Georgia they probably think you should be on your hands and knees praising them for even installing light poles as most of the suburban metro interstates / freeways do not have them. The only ones that do are I-85 North to GA 316 and I-75 north (only in certain sections) to GA-5 Canton Hwy.

I have already pleaded GA-DOT to add more lamps around our suburban freeways but they pretty much told me its the cities / county responsibility, in otherwords; I hope you can drive in the dark.

I will say this,, people really need to slow down in these Toll road construction areas. Was in the area the other day and someone flew past me doing about 100 on I 75 in that construction zone. Seems as though people speed up faster in the area for some reason when they know construction barriers are up..was a 9 car accident the other day in the area

The 9-car accident killed a high school student from one of the local high schools and sent 4 others to the hospital. Such a terrible tragedy. Apparently a tractor-trailer lost control. The construction zones, particularly around exits 221-218 are just flat out scary. The lanes are so narrow, shifting all over the place over very uneven surfaces. The lane lines are vague at best and there is no shoulder. You're just crammed on top of each other right up against the giant wall. There is no room for error, not an inch. More should be done to make those areas safe to drive through, truly.
