I'm guessing it's because of the more tech-oriented workforce and the universities in the Raleigh/Durham area. I suppose those factors outweighed transit and the airport, areas where Charlotte is stronger.

Doubtful since Raleigh made the list. I'm thinking that Charlotte's weakness when it comes to higher ed is what caused it not to make the list.
