oh I deleted it in case I should not have said that! sorry! But yeah it really does seem overboard. Either that or is an expression of frustration maybe?

Well,if you're not happy there, then best to just move on,or if you need to stay, then open yourself up more. Maybe take a historical tour of Atlanta or get involved in community theater, things you hadn't thought of before.
The thing with coming from nyc is that you don't have to look int a community,it's right there as you open the door (good and not good!).
Anyway,so I imagine it takes just a little effort to get involved like that in another kind of environment. I'd give that a try!

To the OP, I do not think that my feelings are more valid than yours, so I will not disdainfully judge or put you down. I also didn't see a question mark in your post, so I don't know why all these people feel they need to make such responses.

But rest assured, you are not alone... And I'm FROM the south.

I'm accruing money right now so I can move to a more pleasant place, where people aren't as unfriendly and full of themselves.

Oh, and don't even bother with the previous poster saying you should find community... it ain't going to happen.. Save your money instead, don't feed manure pile.

"Hmmm...I don't want any responses or backlash, so I think I'll go into City X's forum and place the most negative post about City X that I can come up with."

That sounds like a good idea.

I live in Smyrna which is cute but not so convenient during rush hour. I had to compromise with my wife since she did not want city.

When I'm walking with my new neighbors to the Decatur Craft Beer Festival this weekend I'll be sure to remember this post and have a nice chuckle.

Next time I walk to Old Town Woodstock for a concert or a festival (or even dinner/drinks at Pure Taqueria), I will too.

Boonie.....

Don't worry, theres lots of people here that feel as you do. I'm here for a project that is almost over!! I live in Midtown which is supposedly one of the hottest neighborhoods in the "ITP" yet there is crime here all over the place - I think it has to do with the "ghetto" being just 10 small blocks south of here. Even in Midtown its alot of chain restaurant and bars in strip malls. I've never seen the "hip" area of any city have so much parking lots, gated communities, and chain restaurant within strip malls. Buckhead, the premiere area of this city is based around two shopping malls (last time I saw this in a major city was in a SUBURB or DC in Tysons Corner.

To the bashers! Yes I did my homework, it was a temporary project so I took it. I have also partaken in alot of activities like gay pride, black gay pride(scary), dogwood festival, taste of Atlanta, the art fairs in Piedmont. Been to Cabbage town, L5P, Decatur, East Atlanta, etc...

BLEH!!
