According to the Aiken Standard, Dollar General and Sprint are going in that location. It doesn't specify whether that's Sprint as in the phone company or Sprint as in the gas station.

Martin also said Sprint and Dollar General are planning to open new locations at the corner of U.S. 25 and Walnut Avenue near I-20 and Exit 5.
The parcel, located at the southwest corner of the intersection, across from Walmart, was sold June 19 for $1.27 million, according to Aiken County property records.



Martin said only Sprint and Dollar General are planned for the parcel, which covers 3.71 acres, but didn't rule out additional businesses in the future.

I've heard from an insider that the land across Gateway Boulevard from Chick-fil-A that has a sign reading "Under Contract" is supposed to be the area's largest Zaxby's.

Well you can rest assured the other DG will close when this one opens. In my experience, DG has no problem closing a store and building a brand new, larger one right across the street rather than expanding. And for what it's worth, it's definitely a Sprint gas station and not the phone store according to a councilman friend of mine.

Surplus Warehouse sells building supplies for various customer bases and offers custom design, estimates for home improvement, and services and plans for carrying out building projects.
The new store, part of a chain that has dozens of locations throughout the south, will move into the building mid-September, but the store may not be open until later.
