Agreed. The 1960s is my favorite decade for cars.

I graduated back in 2006 and I didn't get my license until 2007 when I was still at job corps in moses lake, wa. I would say that trucks were popular for the guys. the cars were popular with the girls when I was going to high school. however, I think the trucks were the most popular at the time.

in brooklyn, ny alot of the high schools in southern Brooklyn are filled with children of west indian parents or west indian people in general so with being said the nissan maxima was the all time favorite. in nyc almost every west indian cultured young in will buy a used nissan maxima as their first car preferably the 96 - 03 models.

i myself was going to buy me a 2009 maxima but i got the 2010 camry instead and i drive a 2012 camry se right now. im 22 btw.

I guess that I lived in a more depressed area in the 1970s. The FAVORITE car among MY friends was a running car. And that running car could be a 1964 Ford LTD that lacked a muffler, a bright purple Ford Pinto, or anything that my father would buy.

Growing up in Chicago during the early 1980s, the Olds Cutless Supreme was hugh back then. It was the coolest car to own back then.

Mustang GT and Iroc Z were the cool cars. One kid had a 70 Nova SS. Another a TR6. In hindsight the coolest was the first generation Bronco with a 3 speed on the column. Another rare bird was a Celica GTS All Trac.

Other cool cars were VWs. A few kids had GTIs, one had a Scirroco 16v and another. Girls had cabriolets.

This!^^^^

Although I do remember a lot of Plymouth Scamps/Dodge Dart Swingers with those Slant-6s in the High School student parking lot.

Plymouth Dusters and Chevy Novas, too.
