I take good care of my cars: I don't drive wildly, rent other cars when going on driving trips that are 2 hrs so the wear & tear isn't on my car, get all the routine maintenances done, etc.

My 1st car was a 1993 Honda Civic coupe. I got it brand new & it's still driveable today. So that's 20 yrs old.

My current car is a 2009 Nissan Rogue crossover SUV. I got it brand new too & plan to keep it until the repair costs aren't worth doing & it's just best to get a new car.

When I buy cars, I'm in it for the LONG haul. I plan to keep them at least 16+ years if they hold up. I don't drive around that much though...mainly to work & school & both of them are 30 min or less away. I think I probably drive a tad less than your average person.

Until cost of repairs outweighs value left in the vehicle, under DIY condition. Then, donate it to Goodwill and write off on tax. At some point, it becomes a liability to drive.

2002 F150
I bought it a year and a half old. Currently has 165,000 miles on it, still runs and looks like new. Gonna keep it at least 2 more years...

Year/Brand/Model?
1994 Honda Civic Si

~401000 miles. Purchased at one year old and with 24K miles on the odometer.

I plan to keep it forever. It's just the perfect vehicle for me! And any next car would be an identical one. Perhaps in white.

1995 Isuzu Rodeo - kept it for 15 years @ 115k miles. Only let it go because the GM transmission which was rebuilt 2 years earlier quit again. Paid $2700 for that job - what a mistake. First car, loved it to death... even kept it while I had my '08 BMW which I will hope for the best... but not expecting anywhere close to 15 years. I do have a combined 8 year warranty though.

2004 Honda CRV - Has 230,000 miles and (knock on wood) has not given me any trouble since I bought it at 150,000 miles (just had to replace the battery as a person will need to do every 2 years here in the desert). I'd like to sell it and buy a Toyota 4Runner but gas prices are going up, (again!!!!) so I dont know if I want to go from 26mpg to 19mpg right now. CRV has been such a good car but I just like the 4Runners more and their reliability reputation is just as stellar as my Honda and besides, do I really need a V-6? All I ever tow are my motorcycles and my 5-spd CRV does that just fine......I'm up in the air as to whether or not I should keep this vehicle.

2001 Suzuki SV650N (touring and daily commuter)- Love it. Just added bars from a Ducati Monster and also put a set of Galfer brake lines on it. Hope I never have to sell it.

2004 Yamaha R6 (trackdays and racing only) - I dont want to sell it but could use the money. Best performing bike I've ever ridden.

2002 GM SUV - 200,400 miles. I'll keep it until the wheels fall off (which I thought was last year)
2010 Lexus RX Hybrid - 45,000 miles (not a bad vehicle, it's the wife's daily driver)
2013 Mercedes ML - 700 miles (took delivery the day after Christmas; bought as a replacement for the GM, but that truck keeps on running)
