How old is it and how many more years will you keep it?
Year/Brand/Model?
I purchased in it in October 2002 (2003 model), so it's 10 years and 5 months old, 130k mileage.
2003/Honda/Civic
I plan to keep it so long as it's reliable transportation, even if I have to spend a few grand on car repairs, it will be worth it to hold on to it long as possible. I estimate another 5 years.

Is it Automatic trasmission? When did you change the timing belt? How often do you do your trasmission fluid change?
What do you think your next car going to be? 5 years....maybe a 2018/2019 Accord?
I'm the kind of person that likes to flip cars. I buy them and drive them for a year or two them sell them. I don't typically buy the run of the mill models. I like the performance versions etc so selling after a year doesn't hurt as bad as you might think.
This is just how I am. I know it's not the smart thing to do bit I make good money and cars are my passion but enough about that. Typically I put 20k on a car and sell it. EXCEPT for my Tacoma. Currently I've owned this this truck for 10 yrs and 160K miles. It still looks really good and drives like the day I bought it. 20 car have come and gone in that time and I've said I was gonna trade the old girl in a dozen times but I don't see it happening.
When/if something major ever happens ill sell it. Odds are nothing will ever go terribly wrong. It's currently being prepped as our new expedition rig. We're planning a 30 trip out west. Hopping to keep the tires off pavement except for gas stops.

Yes it's an automatic transmission. I've had the transmission fluid changed three times trying to correct a shifting problem. It shifts into a lower gear than back into a higher gear when accelerating when the car is not warmed up. It still happens occasionally even when it warmed up, but much less often or noticeable. I've learned the live with it, I ease up on the accelerator a bit when it happens to minimize the up shifting. I've had this issue since 80k, and it hasn't gotten any worse or better during the last 50k miles.
I had the timing belt replaced at 95k. That's about the last time I had the transmission fluid replaced.
I'd be perfectly happy with another Civic, but my wife is more status conscious, she wants me to get at least an Accord next. Actually I really want to get a Manual transmission next but my Wife can't drive Manual and will not let me buy one. Could this be grounds for a divorce?

Are you going to change the transmission fluid soon?
Why is your wife so status conscious? Is she materialistic too?
"California cars" are not exposed to the extreme weather and salt as other areas of the country so the exteriors look far better overall.
So true... my Grandmother's 85 Olds Cutlass still had the show room new car smell 25 years and 19,000 miles later...
A family member got it and within three years it looked like a very old car... dents and scrapes and faded paint and stains on the pristine upholstery... if my Grandmother would have seen it... she would have died.
I own a 2006 Honda Civic that I bought new in February of that year. After seven years and 99k miles, I only had to replace a starter and motor mount outside of regular maintenance. The only thing it needs is a paint job. It feels good not to have a car payment. I hope to keep it at least another four years if not longer. Thanks Dave Ramsey, you rock!

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe bought in 2011. It has 102,000 on the odometer. Would like to keep it another 8-10 years but I question the reliability of it.
2007 Toyota Corolla bought in 2012. It has 82,000 miles. 8-10 years if not longer.
