Sometimes I wish all vehicles just came with cameras installed in their back and front windshields automatically, with digital displays of the speed the vehicle is going and if any turn signals are activated. People could turn them on/off at their leisure. But if someone pulled this sort of stunt, a person would automatically have proof of it. Might sound extreme to a lot of folks here, but this sort of behavior can cause some serious accidents. And don't worry, it could be a very mild "punishment" for first or second time offenders. I think just being liable would straighten a lot of these people out.
And in general, it's a far more efficient and safe way of catching someone committing a crime or traffic violation than trying to record it with your cell phone while driving!
What we really need are the vehicles that will one day set the course for where you're going and it does the driving for us - no egos involved
I find horns to be most useful for this scenario, but I find the middle finger a bit much.
The middle finger? No way- it's only driving- it's only a car - plus you don't know the person well enough to challenge or insult them. As a Canadian I have heard the legendary stories about Texas driving...that no one gives anyone the finger...for fear of being shot... Everyone is very polite- correct me if I am wrong.

Well, I drive like a granny.....always use my signals, try my best to give myself plenty of time for any maneuvers I make.
I am not afraid when I am driving.....I just value being able to drive at a very economical price. Get tickets, injure someone, cause an accident.....wow, your cost per mile driven is going way up. And gas....now close to 4 bucks a gallon....I coast as much as possible...no jackrabbit starts.
And yes, those jackwagons cut me off when I signal, fine with me....I just laugh at their idiocy.
The worst thing I have ever encountered were the lunatics who when you attempt to pass - intentionally speed up. This is really bad on a two lane highway...One trucker that was going below the limit - would not let me get by...He wanted me to crash into on coming traffic...A ways up the road I caught him at a light...I showed my displeasure and he just gave me the most evil grin. I could swear there are people out there that are dangerous - intentionally so.
For those that tend to leave your signal on for miles on end; either because you didn't take the turn or your vehicle didn't recognize it as a turn or so didn't cancel it, how do you NOT hear it???
Some of them are really quiet. The rental Chevy Cruze I've been driving recently does not have a turn signal clicker that is loud enough to hear at highway speeds even over moderate audio volume. My own old Acura Integra I could probably still here.
More alarming is how do you not SEE it? Even if your hearing is failing, you should be looking at the dash every once in a while. Although, then again, I found myself adjusting the steering wheel kinda funny in the rental. I couldn't see the real speedometer at the highway speeds, although I put the middle electronic screen on a setting that gave me a digital speedo and left the steering wheel in the lower more comfortable position. But, I seem to remember still being able to see the indicators for the turn signals.
