My Series IIA 88" Land Rover. I loved that beastie but trying to keep a series rover working as a DD in pre internet Alaska was a futile task. No parts and little knowledge. And the sandwich sized heater core was not up to AK winter weather, "Kodiak " heater indeed hah!

This one:

1969 Corvette L46 4 Speed. Concours D'Elegance winner (Scottsdale, AZ 2005), Corvette Forum winner best in show out of over 200 cars (2006), and just stunning in every way. I sold it simply because it was too nice to enjoy as a driver. I wish I would have kept it though, miss it quite a bit.

I had an SWB and a LWB Dormobile version...both basket cases...both SIIA. Lol. My 88†SIII was my daily driver for about three years but my problem was just the opposite of yours....driving it when it was over 110F. Having said that, it never failed to put a smile on my face after a hard day of work.

I do not miss working on them. All. The. Time.

Ouch. About as bad as my Syclon3 stolen 6 months after I bought it.

Our daughter was born in San Francisco.

We left there in the early 80's.

But she went back to go to school at Berkley.

She has lived in Berkley, Alameda, Oakland, and recently moved to Pacifica.

She has driven VW' s for years. She currently drives a VW Taurag.

But it's nothing like the VW I used to work on.

It's more like my wife's Subaru.

There was a time when I wanted my First car back. A 1983 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. A friend of mine bought the exact same car I had a few years ago and I got to drive it home which was a nice drive on the highway and that got it out of my system. I was good after that. Right now I find myself missing the BMW 3 Series convertible I just sold a few months ago.

I've had over 30 70-74 Cuda's and Challengers....I wish I had any of them back, but in particular a white 70 Challenger 440 Six Pack with 4-speed pistol grip and 4.10 Dana in the back...all numbers matching.
