Talking about all these great old muscle cars is great now i can’t wait till the annual Woodward dream cruise in metro Detroit next month the largest car show in the world for classic vehicles. There will be classic vehicles from all over the world.
If I knew then what I know know and had the resources I have now it would totally be either my '72 Thunderbird or my step dad's '78 Toronado.
The Thunderbird was like driving a living room with all of the comfort.
The Toronado was supposed to be mine but one day when I was 14 I took it out and drove it (driven it lots of times)while they were out and wrapped it around a tree, I loved everything about that car and still miss it today. Even moreso now that he has passed away
Only difference was his was white (red velour interior)

I would love to have back the 1964 Skylark Wagon. Lots of memories, a summer-long road trip to 44 states, my first date and many more with my wife of 43 years. I would replace the 300 CI V8 with a 350, Oversize dual exhaust, do a front disc brake conversion, and put on old-school US Mag wheels. Then I would replace the Sears under dash AC with
a Vintage Air system.
I'm not getting in the way way back machine to talk about classic muscle because I didn't start driving until 1995 but...
I'd love to have my 2003 Mitsubishi Evo VIII back. I sold it for nearly what I paid for it and moved on to German luxury but, I still miss the overall rawness, steering and overall special-ness of that car. I did cams, a turbo back and a tune. It was making about 400hp out of a 2.0 liter and had an awesome lope at it idle. It would also shoot softball sized flames out of the pipe on shifts which never got old.
After that probably my wife's 2006 Mini Copper S. Ordered it exactly how we wanted it, before Minis got big and boring. The whine of the supercharger, pops and burbles on decel, all the little toggle switches, super fun to drive, incredibly practical, great equipment just a great all round little car.
My 1965 (1964-1/2) Ford Mustang. Bought brand new when I turned 21. Dark green, white vinyl interior, hardtop, manual shift, V8 I believe. Hubby had a 1966 Pontiac GTO special ordered (without the popular hardtop, had the regular 'bars') from GM.
Wow, in hindsight, if only we had saved those cars, they were kept in mint/mint condition and would be worth plenty today. Not to mention the joy of driving them today.
.... would you love to own again? I don’t care if you sold it, traded it, wrecked it or lost in a divorce. Call it the day before that act occurred. You found it again, in a climate controlled facility, cared for by an army of master mechanic trolls and while its older, it’s in at least as good of shape as the day before last time you saw it.
What, why, when and where? Pictures of it or even the same from the ‘net are welcomed also. I know some of you kind folks have some great stories and I’d love to hear them.
My first two cars were both 57 Chevy's (the first one a four door). Then I had a 61 Impala, a 64 Malibu, and a 68 Firebird. Honestly, the car I miss the most is the 61 Impala.
What car from my past do I wish I still had ? ALL OF THEM ! I had my first car at 11, a 32 Ford coupe, and have probably had 200 or so over the years. Everything from early Fords, to Austin Healeys, to GTO's, to drag cars.
I don't think I could pick just one out of all of those that I would want more than the others. But I know the ones I have today will stay with me to the grave.
