The problem is and always has been the de-industrialization of America's major cities, and jobs shifting overseas.

Close. The problem has been (continues to be) encouraging the no/low skill cohort to over produce more of the no/low skilled
in the face of the deeply reduced need for them ... and the resulting reduced market value of the time/labor.
Wanna take a guess at who benefits and who did the encouraging?

I'll take a stab at it. When people become dependent on the largess of politicians, in order to survive, they tend to vote for those same politicians, to keep the flow going. When you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on the support of Paul.

That happens... certainly.
But it's more as a side effect of and decent human reaction to the creating of so many that can't support themselves.

Go back a few steps.

You have to have an education to make money........the days of getting a lot of money for unskilled labor in the US are gone.

And companies pushing more profits for their shareholders. Not for their workers.

We've gone from the largest private employer in the US being GM in the 50's, to Walmart today.

Klacik is running in a District that is also Suburban, educated, and affluent. Some on here didn't get the memo..........

Why can't she be great for Baltimore and Maryland, and the United States for that matter in an elected office?
