Cleveland, Cleveland! LeBron broke the curse so have at it Indians.
They are due to lose a couple games. If it's not against Toronto, hopefully it's against the Yankees next weekend, so the wool can get pulled over Hal & Cashman's eyes thinking they are still in contention, so instead of just sucking for the rest of this year, they'll be mediocre for the next 3 years instead.
The Rockies Gerardo Parra has positioned himself as the favorite to win this year's Rob Picciolo Award. In 246 plate appearance, Parra has drawn just four walks. He is on a pace for eight base on balls for the season. The Rangers' Rougned Odor and the Jays' Kevin Pillar trail Parra with seven walks apiece.
And they did beat the Toronto backup IF.....good win and 14 straight wins is impressive, but the win today I'd say they were more lucky.
I would think the opposite. All that offense should have produced 6-10 runs with ordinary luck, maybe a dozen runs if the timing had been at maximum luck.
They were either wretchedly inefficient, horribly non-clutch....or ding dang unlucky.
Cleveland won, but geez, 15 hits, 3 walks and two Toronto errors should make for more than two runs. They stranded 17 base runners.
1-12 in RISP (although Toronto was 1-10). I believe Goins of all people induced a GIDP in the 18th.
Anyway, I'm thinking since CLE had to use Bauer and the entire bullpen to win that one, they're ripe for a defeat today with whatever emergency starter is going.

After a 22-6 month of June, a 14 game win streak, and being 19 games over .500, I doubt any CLE fans would mind.

Their pitching and defense won the game. See how easy that was?
