We're only a little past the halfway point of the season, and no matter what Dansby Swanson does in Atlanta, it's already safe to label the Shelby Miller trade a complete bust, and by far the worst transaction of the winter. Outside of like 1 or 2 starts, he's been a complete disaster.

I think maybe that distinction belongs to the Cubs for signing Jason Hayward through 2023 for 182 million. He of the .234/.326/.323 slashline.

As of this morning, the Cubs no longer have the best record in the NL. That belongs to the 54-33 (.621) Giants. The Cubs are at 52 -32 (.619 )

Agreed. His defensive WAR is minimized in tiny Wrigley Field.

Good.

And how about the Indians of late? 51-34 and on top of the AL Central in a real breakout performance. If Kansas City keeps faltering, then look out for this team.

With a game score of 32 tonight, Jake Arrieta had his worst performance since August 6, 2014 (he got an 8 in that one).

He also gave up two home runs in an inning for the first time since 2013 (also vs Pirates).

His last three starts are 38, 38, 32.

There must be some bad kale going around.

The parade that everyone had going through the north section of Chicago the first week of November has been cancelled.

It's going to be fun watching the Cardinals hunt them down all summer then pass them come autumn.
