Kobe is still the star in LA so I'm not following your point.
If your point is that the 76ers 1-7 slots are collectively better than the Lakers 2-7....yeah maybe.
The Lakers really only have 3 good players. Kobe, Dwight, Gasol...and Kobe is not able to do it all for 40 minutes like he could back in the day.
40 minutes with the flu.
Yeah, when Kobe goes in "hero mode" the out come is exciting, but almost always ends in a loss.
It was a horrible game all around last night. Under 50% for FT, and around 32% for FGs. I don't even want to know what 3PT% was.
And I think the Lakers had close to 20 turn overs with Kobe having half of those.
A lot of the 3s taken were good looks, just misses; a lot were in and out. FTs are mental and there were a couple of bad calls against the Lakers that had shifted the momentum (I don't condone blaming refs, because the Lakers should blow a team like the Pacers out, just stating the mood of the game.)
I think another part of this is that 1. They don't have a point guard. 2. Gasol is trying too hard to fit into this system. He needs to shoot that 50% jumper and stop thinking and stop being hesitant. 3. Gasol will be traded, especially if he doesn't hit that jumper. 4. D'Antoni's system is still being implemented and proved that at this stage it couldn't hold it's own against a defensive team.
Kobe and Howard, and to a lesser part Gasol have been pretty consistent it's just the wildcard players like MWP, Jamison or Meeks need to be consistent as well.
And to be honest the past few games, they have been improving.
In the end I think the Lakers have stopped the bleeding and the panic. I think they have a better base to work from now, it's just frustrating seeing a team this inconsistent.
I knew the Wizards were going to win soon because of how they were playing the last 3 games. So the TrailBlazers must stink and will be a bad team this year.

I agree with many of your points, here are some things I'm thinking.
1) The Lakers aren't really stopping the bleeding yet IMO...they've merely been strolling through a very soft section of their schedule and have played 10 home games vs. 5 road games so far. December is going to be a very very tough month for them with 5 home and 9 road games and tougher competition.
2) We all know the lakers have one of the worst benches of any team in the NBA and that's not going to go away or get better.
3) If they can have thier starters rested and gelling by the end of the season (and not miss the playoffs doing so) then that's their chance to make some noise. I expect them to be a somewhat dangerous 7th-8th seed personally....but the team is too old and flawed to go far IMO. Again, they have 3 guys and after that.....artest, nash, jamison are all played out.
4) Good luck trading Gasol. He makes a TON of money and next year is the last year on his contract and he has a huge payday that year too. Is it Gasol's fault for being tentative when he get's blamed for everything and Kobe has been forcing out players and coaches left and right? When you have crosshairs on your back and were made the scapegoat for last seasons playoffs exit (which wasn't his fault) how do you react?
The second game is trash.........Denver vs Golden State
I guess I'll be tuning into trash tonight. Go Dubs!
