I mean there are shootings in Boston every weekend. No one is comparing Boston to Chicago but Boston has its own fair share of crime. Im happy if it's been a week or two since someone was murdered but I know there were Milton/mattapan shootings two weekends in a row in July where people died.

Am I wrong in saying there are shootings in Boston every weekend ? Killings every month ?

Not as big as saying people are getting murdered "every weekend" when objectively they arent.

yea but it's really in a low low-crime mode right now. Compared to just about anywhere in the country. Things are going very well compared to this time last year and most years.

Hartford is keeping up with Boston in homicides this year despite having 18% of the population

The last murder within the city limits of Boston was on July 5. Obviously 1 murder is too many, but the city has shown a significant reduction in its murders from last year.

Also, you can see from my attachment, during last year's spike (which happened all over the country), Boston's total murders weren't that much higher than 2017 and 2018.

At the end of the day, one murder anywhere in the world is too many, but we should laud Boston for whatever it's doing to keep these numbers low when much of the rest of the country is getting worse.

But there's still shootings every weekend. I'm sorry but if you're shooting at someone you're intending for them to die. Just because the person lived after being shot doesn't mean things are great ya know?

In Providence, murders are way up but I don't think shooting incidents are. The mayor has said it has been more deadly because there are a lot of automatic guns on the streets now.

Maybe that's not the case in Boston.

I'm having a hard time finding hard evidence that shows that shootings are up. I can find murders, not shootings. What evidence are you using?
