The Final Canal Side plan for the Downtown Buffalo Inner Harbor Waterfront is released as the final master plan.

It will include a number of exciting attractions, including canal water features, towpaths, locks, waterfalls, ice-skating, an underwater tunnel, a replica milling wheel, canal boats and barges, shops, restaurants, vendors, museums, four special neighborhood districts, and other cultural draws.

That building looks ridiculous and I agree that Buffalo's old architecture is more important than glass turds.

OH NO
Another Pie in the sky, Every 6 months now they keep coming
up with different designs, In any other city they already have the
tenants all lined up and named before they build. Anyways
when Buffalo had a better economy and a larger population business's
couldn't make it, Look at the nearly all vacant Main Place Mall, plus
all the downtown department stores that closed.

Vegas, without people living in the heart of the city.. how do you expect businesses to flourish?

Buffalo has seen a boom in loft-type apartments, and that is step 2 (opening main st being #1) to revitalizing Buffalo.

It is happening, get informed.

It is plausible that another design will appear, but we are confident that this is the true plan and are just tweaking some things now before the official
commencement of construction begins. By 2010-2011 when the World will be in Buffalo for the World wide junior hockey tournaments, most of the games will be held at the HSBC Arena where right next to it, this Canal Side plan will be either nearing completion, or completed. The worst case scenario would be that the Canal Side Inner Harbor development is only under construction.

One of three new Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus buildings will be going up this spring. Architectural renderings are out and look pretty nice - this is the 10 story Patient Care and Research Center - to the right is Buffalo General Hospital.

Very different design, at least from an art deco perspective. This isn't uncommon of medical facilities though. I have been inside a number of medical manufacturing plants, large foutains, large glass/mirror entranceways, courtyards and personal parks. Big money with anything medical.
