Thanks again to yeahthatguy for slaying this clown. user_id pretty much owns himself every time he posts and yet there are still those still willing to do it for him.

WIC is federal. But it encourages irresponsible parents to be more irresponsible.

Parents should save money so they can feed their baby....

instead, they get wic, so they can blow all the money they have on expensive cell phones, designer purses, getting their nails/hair done.

You ever notice people on state aid always have the newest and most fancy cell phones?

And California usually adds to whatever Federal benefits are handed out or gives out money to people the Feds deem ineligible.

Nope. But I'm OK with taking the babies away, then letting the parents die of starvation. Guaranteed they won't be making more babies that must rely on the govt for their next meal.

There is a liquor store (in the same mall as a grocery store) with a big fat WIC taken here sign. Weird.

Taking the babies away and doing what with them exactly? You think taking babies away from poor parents and having the state raise them is going to be cheaper than providing modest support to the parents?

Is there something mutually exclusive about these two?

Why would I pay more? I can't, by myself, change this country and most of the problems are policy based and not funding based. There is plenty of wealth in this country, its just a question of what you do with it.

This is silly, to say it once again, you're just diverting attention from the real issues. We don't have control over other nations, so limiting our attention to this nation is entirely reasonable. This isn't an arbitrary line...

Help? Yes...money? No.

What is weird? Liquor stores often sell food and WIC distributes vouchers that can only be used for particular food items...its far more limiting than food stamp programs.
