Honestly, even though I voted for him, simply as an anti-Cox vote, as a moderate democrat - this really irritated the stuffing out of me.

I would have happily voted for Antonio. Totally bummed I didn't get that option.

Just wait until he takes office. You're going to be furious.

True, Newsom has lived a pretty good life. What I've found most annoying (in the past eight years) is that he, while serving as Lt. Gov, also held a position on the University of CA's Board of Regents. He, and the other regents, voted price hikes in tuition almost every year, making it more difficult for some young people to attend college at a CA university. If he sees the value in higher education, he has a funny way of showing it, imo.

I vote first and foremost on fiscal policies. I don't trust political ads and try not be influenced by them. Since I don't watch TV and listen to the radio, so far it is working for me. I vote for Cox because I believe he will be more fiscally responsible than the other candidate. I vote for him because I believe he won't help destroy Prop 13. I don't need political ads to help me decide.

But nonetheless thank you for posting the link.

Of course he's "with" the president. They're from the same party and Trump was already elected, he's already in office, so why would Cox want him to fail? This was from June, yet the week of the gubernatorial debate Cox said in an on-camera interview that he would support the president where he agrees with him and then not support him on issues with which he disagrees. This is not the same as Gavin Newsom's wild claims that Cox is a Trump "protege" or that a vote for him is a vote for "Trumpism."

I did watch the debates. Nowhere did Cox make a "vow" to promote Trump's agenda. He doesn't even use Trump's name--it's only his opponents who keep harping on Trump to distract from their own disastrous plans. Can you lay out the actual plans of this so-called Trump agenda and how it will be executed in California from the governor's mansion with a 2/3 Democratic state leg?

Cox is hardly one to talk about 'privilege', he's certainly not working nights in 7-11 to make ends meet.

He is the founder of Equity Property Management and Cox Financial Group Limited. He is a lawyer, certified public accountant and venture capitalist whose net worth is said to exceed $200 million. https://heavy.com/news/2018/06/john-...h-family-kids/

words have meaning, Cox said "I'm with him" and he wasn't talking about Obama. He's certainly not distancing himself from Trump and I've yet to read any policy of position of his that isn't consistent with Trumpism.

I've already mentioned that he would have a hard time accomplishing anything with a democratic legislature but he could screw things up greatly by vetoing measures that the people of this state support.

The difference is Cox is self made , he was raised by a single mom in South Chicago , his dad abandoned him at birth . Newsom grew up as the son of the Getty’s attorney and was born into the liberal elitist world with all the donations and connections .
