On the mask order being rescinded (again), that status is just as fluid as it was prior to last June. As long as Newsom can cling to his emergency powers, all the state protocols, not just the mark order, can change overnight. We could very well be back to the ridiculous color tier system somewhere down the road, or, something even stupider.

I don't care a crap about masks one way or the other. What bugs me is the fact that these impositions are all connected to a virtual switching station from this unlimited power.

Newsom is up for reelection. That's going to be the difference.

Exactly, and the people here clutching their pearls, are going to vote for him again… and he knows that, so he basically has to appeal to the middle until November at least. Even the people that aren’t happy with his rescinding of the mask mandate are going to vote for him again because what other choice do they have? There is no one more far left who is going to run

Let's not pretend mask use is totally harmless for children. That study is long but has a ton of information on mask use harms. Problems for all people include: microbiological contamination, dental problems, confusion and decreased mental capacities, increased blood CO2, and possible suffocation for epileptics and asthmatics. With children it's pretty clear mask use can interfere with learning non-verbal communication. There may also be potential heart issues associated with long-term use due to increased CO2 levels in the blood and increased resting heart rate.

The WHO even admitted mask use isn't recommended for children under 6 and most of Europe never pushed it on young children. Of course in CA we like 2 year olds masked.

I have a friend who dutifully wears her mask but can’t get her 2 year son to keep his on: she’s had security guards ask her to leave a festival at the mall because of that. They also have to drive for 2 days each way for trips because of Biden’s Federal Mask Law on planes for 2 and up. The airlines actually told her that the police would be called if he didn’t keep his mask on. The very same police that the Democrat want to defund.

Yes, we'll continue on with our lives, and they can continue living in fear. All the maskless celebrities and the other 70K+ even though masks were provided at the Super Bowl, yet outside kids in a school band were playing instruments with masks on. I ran by a middle school on Fri and kids were playing instruments with masks on outside, running around playing games and basketball with masks on. What a joke. Utter nonsense.

Where were the masks? Celebrities and fans enjoy Super Bowl maskless despite mandate

Garcetti is holding his mask in his right hand lol. This state and LA is such a joke.

Love the State but the politics are butt. It's actually embarrassing what these clowns put us through and we pay to have it done to us. We pay for them to be at things like football games and mock us. Yes, they think they rule us. Yet, we keep electing the lunatic fringe.

Resume life as before, but give ICU priority to vaccinated persons being admitted for any reason, Covid-related or not. The idea that I might not be able to get a bed if some drunk driver causes an accident in which I'm severely injured is ridiculous.

Health care workers are burned out, frustrated, and overworked because too many Americans were too selfish to care for the health of the people around them, and too intent on their "freedumb" to take reasonable, common-sense public health measures.
