Yes, they are still around. PG&E has started their relicensing effort, Mothers for Peace are actively opposing it.

Hey highnlite--I know this is a bit off topic, but were in SLO when "Scrubby and LLoyds" was still open?

I don't have a memory of them, now, I left right after high school in 1969. My life did not have much to do with SLO in those days. The only place I remember eating at in San Luis was the Woolworth's lunch counter, where I think the Network Mall is now, if it is still called, the Network mall.

I think that dates me.... Each September we would do our school shopping trip, go to JC Penney's get three pairs of jeans and 5 shirts and a jacket. Then go to Woolworth's for lunch.

I betcha 'The City' would find it hard to believe that one could live and go to school all year with such a limited clothing supply.
