No it was not. Unless you have a ring and a vow you owe fidelity to no one, not officially anyway. A person is either married or they are single. There is no in-between.
That having been said, when you are (presumably) living with the mother of your child, for God's sake, you have a little decency, a little integrity, regardless of whether you "have to" offically or not. He is so devoid of the slightest modicum of respect or decency towards the mother of his child that it makes me throw up in my mouth.

Who the hell said his staff were insecure and felt they had to have sex with him??? I don't recall reading that nor hearing anything from his staff. Maybe -just maybe- it was conseunsual sex between consenting-not related adults. Some people like sex just for sex.
Now back to Letterman... I think a lot of people who are getting a bee in their bonnet over this stuff could use a little of what Letterman's been dipping into these past years. And hello people, the real issue is extortion and blackmail-- you know, the things that are against the law.
