Home is 3200 sq ft and would need a significantly larger generator just for the a/c... which just means to me.... more gas usage... means keeping more gas. Yes we have 2 zones and would only hook-up the main floor, but still.

Idea suggested was, get a regular window a/c unit for the one bedroom we have hooked up to the generator and use that. Can run fans in the kitchen as well. We will either be in the kitchen or mbr.. no need to a/c the living room/dining room, entry foyer etc.

Also we have the generator hooked up in the outside sunroom, florida room, screened room, what ever different people call it. Has an overhead ceiling fan. We eat our dinner every night outside in that room, never ate in the kitchen so far. Ok, we did not take our kitchen table and chairs for the move. But anyway... we sit outside no matter the temp. because the sun is blocked, ceiling fan is going and even when the outside temps are >95 it is comfortable there. On w/e's we eat all our meals outside. Quiet, serene and great view of the large pond we have in the back, looking at the flying fish flying out trying to get bugs, white cranes flying around and yes 'gator sometimes.
