Put it this way: at least I knew what to expect living near a motor sports complex. I knew exactly when the peace was going to be mildly interrupted and that would go to living near any sports facility. Piercing Evangelist doesn't own the tiny pieces of land he uses to spread his gospel, and if he took that same stuff near someone's house he'd either be booted or arrested no matter what time of day.
Good point, Brian!

I still wonder if there isn't some kind of noise ordinance in Concord, tho. I mean - decibels inside the track and those outside are two different things.

ETA: I just checked and Concord does have a noise ordinance, and it covers even loudspeakers. Seems to me that this could be enforced at any time to curtail such activities, permit or not . . . the ordinance states that the noise cannot be interruptive at 30 ft (that is a paraphrase). There are other subsections of the ordinance that might also cover such loud outdoors noise - including specified hours. I could only DL as a PDF - and didn't want to bother doing that or I would have given a link (wouldn't let me copy in view mode, either). You can google to get the ordinance. Concordnc.gov - and then this info is under police dept.

If you're going to boycott a business over their owners' conservative political views you pretty much have to stop buying stuff altogether.

Anybody else out there as disturbed as I am by the trend that's being (and has been) shoved down everyone's throats that not being explicitly pro-gay agenda somehow equates to being anti-people-practicing-their-way-of-life? So what if the guy that owns a friggin chicken restaurant (an overpriced one at that!) donates money to campaigns on the other side of the fence from you and your views! Shut up! I bet we'd all find it a whole lot harder to "female dog" and moan about this non-issue if we all had fresh hot chicken sandwiches in our mouths instead of a pre-loaded and primed for combat agenda cannon. I think kissing dudes is gross. I think dudes kissing is gross. Wish I could say the same about females but I can't - put a double standard sign on me, don't really care. I see no scientific purpose behind dude/dude or female/female, and again, there's the gross out factor. Simply because I choose to step forward and say "bring it" to those who want me to shut up (they always try...) for not backing down on feeling this way doesn't make me a hate monger. Keep donating to whoever you want, Chick-fil-A, be as vocal as you want. Good for you. Activism isn't only for part of us, it's there for all of us, and the people pitching a huge fit about it.... yeah, you're really showing your true colors and what kind of American you are (or should I say aren't?)

I think your attitude is gross. and your continual ranting belies the hate in your heart, whether you acknowledge it or not.

Are you saying that women kiss each other at CFA?

I think I have a hankering for a chicken sandwich for dinner. And no drive-thru for me.
