I don't remember ever being off for president's day in my entire life. If we celebrated every little holiday our children would never get an education.
Indeed. I've already posted the true history. "Millions of Americans will be honoring the legacy of America’s presidents on Monday—even though a national Presidents Day holiday is pure fiction."
Last time I checked England is not in Union county.
If you grew up in the US, you most likely had Lincoln's birthday and Washington's birthday as holidays.
The kids don't get more days off than they used to, it is just allocated differently. The 180 days your kids attend school may not be the exact 180 days mine do.
Some school districts may have more or fewer days, but they fall generally right around 180 total days of instruction.

Did you just come to this realization and wanted to announce it to the world? I can't otherwise figure out what point you are trying to make. Are you accusing them of lying?

I grew up in the Carolinas and we did not get either as a holiday off from school and I've never worked for an employer in the Carolinas that treated either as a holiday.
I've been trying to convince my employer to close for Presidents' Day and MLK Day for years. My entreaties have fell upon deaf ears, though.
Sounds like discrimination to me. I'd go ahead and find someone who works at your office who is the president of something. Doesn't matter what, book club, local NRA chapter, rotary club, official Justin Beiber fan club, ect, and then have them go to the ACLU, and get them to sue your employer for failing to honor their presidency. I cannot guarantee that you would get the day off this year, but you would definitely get it going forward. Just to be safe, start looking around where you live, try to find a local taxidermy enthusiant club, or Co-ed Bunco club that you can try to become president of. It never hurts to have backup, in the event your current presidential coworker "accidently" abuses their power, and ends up having to resign in shame, pleading that they are not a crook.
