Yeah but I start talking about cannolis in place of a pie and I'm likely to get a slap across the face and physically thrown out of any grocery store.

That definitely can't be a southern thing.

Delicious Orchards? Something along those lines?

I could pick up a high falootin' woman in that area.

Gee, UNCGdad, I can see you wandering around w/ the pie . . . to no avail!!!! Maybe you just didn't look lonely enuff!! Maybe you were giving off that "air of anticipation."

Perhaps I should give this more thought. There may be a methodology central to successfully using pie as a babe magnet. Hmmmmm.

So I read through these posts laughing.

I have to share this story.

My wife is a scrapbooker, when we lived in Miami, most of the scrapbook store where north off us, so where the British pubs.

So we would make a day off it, I have been in a lot of different scrapbook stores and discovered something.

You do not very often see males in scrapbook stores.

I have had women opening flirting with me right in front of my wife.

It's like I am fresh meat or something, I have even had a couple of phone numbers thrust upon me.

So I thought that just happened in Florida no it happened in the Scrap Shak in Mooresville as well.

So if for some reason I was ever end up single, I am taking up scrapbooking.

As I've mentioned before... I worked in a Grocery store for about 5 years... When you're there every day, and especially on a Saturday Afternoon, the singles are out there.

I've witnessed it from men and women, young and old. I was working at the floral arrangements for an hour one weekend while the girl there was on lunch. I had a gentlemen ask me to make an arrangement and I asked what he would like in it. He said, "I don't know flowers, but I want to give them to the woman looking at the head lettuce" . I replied very nicely, Sir, to be honest, I have no idea I don't know flowers either, I'm a meat cutter, I'm just filling in. He got a grin and said well if the flowers I pick out work, I'll be coming back to you so I can get our steaks for dinner!

This man was determined! Haha.

Sadly for him, he never came back to get his steaks

Get a cart & put the pie in the little pull-down basket. Wander through the store aimlessly. If all else fails, there's a wealth of questions to ask. If you're in the vicinity of the eggs, pick up a dozen & ask What's the difference between medium, large, & extra large? Another favorite around here is Why are some eggs brown? followed by Do they taste different?
