In my original post I stated that it's not fair to say Charlotte drivers are so bad when actual people originally from Charlotte aren't the majority of people driving here now. I still contend that it is folks moving from very fast paced, large cities that are bringing their aggressive driving styles down here, putting us all at great risk.
SLAM!!!!! OWNED!!!! DUNK!!!!! You got em again! I kept looking for Charlotte on the list......hmmmmm! You could not have made your point any more succinctly!

That list was for road rage, not just regular aggressiveness like speeding or lane cutting or the other stuff that commonly causes accidents like the ones we're talking about in this thread.

Yes. I lived there for 1 year in 2002 and that was one thing that I constantly called home and told my family about!

I see, as opposed to irregular aggressiveness......I must admit when I'm irregular I do drive a little more aggressively. Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now!!
Aggressive driving is exactly what 'we're' talking about 'in this thread'. It is typical of the human animal to rationalize different levels of aggression as we rationalize different levels of speeding and the infamous 'I wasn't going as fast as the other cars, why are you giving ME a ticket?!"
C'mon, aggression is aggression.....it starts out small and escalates (World History 101).

I'm only speeding if the officer catches me otherwise y'all are just going slow and trying to aggravate me! So really you make me cut you off as your only going 75 in the left lane!

Great post Eagleheart1

Come on...I know at least CharlotteAgent is smarter than that (the jury's way out on you, Eaglehart1 ). The article talks mainly about road rage. It makes quite a few references to road rage. That's a big difference from what is considered aggressive driving (tailgating, cutting someone off at a high rate of speed, etc.). In fact the cities listed are almost all stress dens to begin with.

And besides...how aggressive can you possibly be when people don't want to move because there's SLUSH on the ground? More baffling is the amount of accidents because of said slush at a time where you're really not going more than a few miles an hour??????

Sorry...assuming CharlotteAgent IS right and native Charlotteans are going to be the minority, y'all have to learn to drive like us up north.

Ok, so the jury is way out on me,...that's great, love to keep em guessing. I'll refrain from judging the intelligence of others and continue the discussion.
1. Encyclopedic definition:
"Road rage: a term used to refer to violent behavior by a driver of an automobile, which thus causes accidents or incidents on roadways. It can be thought of as an extreme case of aggressive driving"
(Just a note here: it is referring to an escalated version of aggressive driving.)
2. Quote from article:
"2500 drivers were.....asked to rate road rage and rude driving in telephone surveys".
(Another note: At what point did this scientific study differentiate between 'rude' and 'rage'?) Non-scientific and subjective.

The fact is that Charlotte is not on the list and the study included the terms 'rude' driving and 'road rage'. Studies have been conducted by Universities around the United States to test the patience of drivers as well. You can do it too!! Just sit at a traffic light after it turns green and time how long it takes to hear the first horn!! Ya wanna bet what city came in as the most impatient in the U.S.??? Gee,....let me see.......

I moved here from NY, not the city. Drivers are absolutely horrible here. No one uses their turn signal...no one lets me in when i'm being run of the road....
