Thank you, Nearwest. Danke!!!

I'm headed down now for Oktoberfest. I think I can only make one fest today.

Thank you for sharing this info with the group!

Have fun, wherever you all go. Beautiful weather today, but rain tomorrow!

So enjoy today to the fullest.

Prosit... Opa... Salud.... Cheers!

Hey, team.

Well a couple of pros between Oktoberfest and Polish fest last weekend:

Oktoberfest was free entrance!

Oktoberfest had no visible (maybe none at all!) police with rifles. And yet everyone seemed to be feeling safe and having fun!

Lincoln Square gained many more points, for me!

We didn't end up going, we were busy on Saturday and the weather was terrible on Sunday. Sounds like it was a great time as usual!

Vlajos, Guten Morgen, mein Herr!

Saturday was hot while the sun was out, and then perfect when the sun went down. I parked my car on the north end of Lincoln Square, and then rode my bicycle in. I caught, literally, the last 5 minutes of the parade!

I bought some German apparel for my children from the gift tent. Those guys working there remembered me, and gave me a couple of free little gifts (Come on! Everyone knows Master Jay from Milwaukee!!).

Here's where I need to NOT be crucified!: I went to eat dinner at Garcia's. HA! Come on! I like my food with a bit more flavor.

But I went back and sure made sure to have some German BIER!!!! My Croatian friends from Chicago met up with me.

It was a good time. I loves me some German Fests in Lincoln Square!

HAPPY FRIDAY, Team!

I see there is a weekend fest in Norwood Park. I am thinking of giving it a try tonight.

It seems to be the Norwood Park Fall Fest, on Northwest highway.

Has anyone attended this before? Thoughts?

Thank you.

If that is the festival I'm thinking of, yeah that one is meh. On a side note, Maifest is also pretty meh.

Now on the flip side of things, I've always really liked Skokie Backlot Bash. It's always in late August, on one of the last weekends of that month.

Good morning, all.

I now hold both quigboto AND SonySegaTendo617 in contempt of this court.

Additional charge of HERESY, based on comments of Lincoln Square festivals.

Sentencing to commence immediately.

SonySegaTendo617 shall receive probation, with a stayed sentence, based on positive comment on Skokie Backlot Bash.

Court is dismissed.

Objection! If you wanna call your fest an "Octoberfest" you gotta bring better beer game than one (non-fest!) German pilsner and one selection of domestic swill.

I rest my case.

quigboto, I move to strike this objection, based on "discriminatory" use of mis-spelling "oKtoberfest."

< Gavel is hit >

P.S. OFF RECORD: I take much pride in having MY CITY'S brand of beer, Pabst, proudly served at the Lincoln Square fests!
