I'm thinking Taste of Polonia this weekend!

My Buddy's Pink Floyd tribute band is playing that fest at 830 on Saturday. I'm thinking of making my way out to it. Will DM you if I do.

quigboto, that sounds good. You speak very highly of your buddy's band.

My friend owns a Karate school in nearby Gladstone Park area, and his team is scheduled to put on a demo at 12:30 p.m.

Yes, shoot me a message if you go. We can toast with a Polish beer!

Hello, all.

At Taste of Polonia. I think I see the advertisement for the Pink Floyd tribute band. The "Think Floyd" was the hint.

Good morning,

Well, I made it down on 2 different days for Polish Fest. A great time, both times. (The sight of an assigned sniper on the Copernicus Tower was a bit unsettling, as a reminder of where our society has unfortunately come to!) I cheered on the children karate demo! I had a good time chatting up festival goers, police, and staff. Such great people in your city!!!

This upcoming weekend will be Oktoberfest in Lincoln Square, and chances are I'll be making THAT one on more than one occasion this weekend, as well!

Might head over to Oktoberfest briefly with my sons. Not sure. It's down the street. It gets a little less shiny each time, just by natural law of diminishing returns....

But I totally get why people enjoy it.

I went a couple of years ago and found Lincoln Square’s Octoberfest to be pretty lame. The beer tent had like one German beer (a pils) and Miller or Bud Lite. They didn’t even have a fest bier or marzen. What the heck?

quigboto, THAT, my friend, is why guys like me have to bring the un-lameness (I don't know the opposite word for "lame").

And Kmanshouse and boys better bring the un-lameness, too!!

Yes, typically, it's Hofbrau (or equivalent).

And maybe a Bud or PBR as alternate.

That's it.

It's more about the atmosphere - I've just been there done that several times now. It's fun if you go with some friends and hang out for a couple of hours. But if it's just my wife and I, or my family, it's less whelming.
