I never said it was a works. I said it can only be seen in works. Love IS a Spirit and that Spirit is God. When you love, you are born of God and express that Spirit and when you express that Spirit it is seen in your works. That is why when you love God and each other every day and repent when you don't you can NOT sin.

When? When He was overturning the tables? Calling the Pharisees vipers? Prophesying the destruction of Jerusalem with it's 1.5 million inhabitants? You know He said He only said what He heard His Father speak, right? So WHO prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem? When exactly did G-d stop expecting righteousness and start condoning sin? When He did He stop judging the flesh? Have you bothered to read Revelation? Oh, I forgot that's not one of your cherry picked scriptures is it?

Not only do I not understand your posts, but you seem unable to understand mine. I did NOT attack or curse anyone. I expressed my views that God IS love and NOT any of the primitive nonsense written about Him in the OT or any of the absurd hallucinations about judgment in Revelation.

If G-d turned Pharaoh's heart, prophesied He was sending them into Egyptian then Babylonian captivity (all through the HG no less), why is it you think He couldn't and didn't prophesy the destruction of Jerusalem? Your god is too small and powerless, a cardboard cutout of your imagination. We were told that everything that happened to the Jews was for OUR instruction, and that includes the destruction of Jerusalem. If that was a "random act" by the will of the Romans, then the will of man is stronger than the will of G-d.

According to the scriptures there are three types of baptism. The baptisms of water, fire, and the holy spirit.
The baptisms of water and fire represent cleaning and purification.
By the baptism of water one experiences in conversion to the faith in this life and a cleansing away of the old nature and as a consecration. The baptism of water could also be understood as a typification of the judgment of God on the earth by means of water during the deluge of Noah, wherein God cleansed the world of wickedness.
The baptism of fire represents the judgment of fire which will come upon the world to judge the works of men in the fullness of times. It will likewise purify and sanctify the world once again, to the restoration of all things in Christ.
The baptism of the spirit itself is process of renewal that is the inner transformation accomplished in the other two "types" of Baptism.
What is important to note is that the fire and water baptisms are symbolic and represent the purifying and cleansing power of Gods Judgment.
It is not a literal observance of these rituals that is important so much as understanding the spiritual realities which they typify.
The significance is that of cleansing and purifying and sanctifying and consecrating all things to God in Christ.
