That shouldn't really be of much of a surprise. Those who don't have the true Light that Jesus says he is are unable to understand or believe the Light. The only option is your second paragraph ...a false security of self that leads to work righteousness

a k a moral relativism. And because of that "heaven" is a feel good mentality, not based on what God says. The real rose-colored glasses are that they can't \ refuse to see the horrors that exist in the next world for the unbeliever.

You're all so comfortable in your "it depends on how you view it" theories and looking through rose-colored glasses that you can't see the horrors that exist in this world. Do you ever think of what our service men and women go through everyday? How hard life is for them? What about that secret horror that your neighborhood child is having to go through completely alone? And the starving children all over the world when we have every imaginable food at our fingertips? Please, get real and wake up. The heaven that is promised to all of us is a reality and what I think is sad is that you people have no hope beyond this life.
that's because there is no life after this! this is it man!
yeah, the stuff you mentioned is messed up. no doubt about it.
by the way, if there was a god, and he cared about his "children", he wouldn't let a defense-less kid in africa go hungry. he would make everyone caring and fair!

YOU get real!

Gotta agree 100% with Ilene here. Nothing to do with attitude either. You can have the most positive attitude in the world and thats not going to stop the phone call at 3AM from the police department with some bad news. Plus, what she said about the starving children, etc. There is an incredible amount of suffering going on. So many broken hearts.....so many sick and suffering.

People who have had a glimpse of heaven via a NDE would agree as well.

This is the devil's playground and yes we can experience God "within" but without there's just darkness until the Lord returns. We have to look outside of our own situations and see what is really going on. Just because we're not affected by murder, rape, child pornography, child abuse, animal abuse, starvation, homelessness, or any of the other evils and hardships doesn't mean it's not real and happening. We are spoiled in the US and it's easy to sit back in your lazy boy and say "life is good", or "this must be heaven". Enjoy it because everyone's reality is going to change in the very near future because we've got some serious enemies hot after us and they WILL get us again....remember 9/11?
I totally agree with that! I think this is the calm before the storm, and Iran and all of it's proxies are going to chime in on us sometime soon.It wouldn't surprise me if we had an atomic weapon or 2 or more, dropped right on us by them,by AQ,N. Korea,or all of them.We seem to be sitting back, doing nothing.

No, this is not it, "man". That is the saddest belief ever. There is a God, and he does care about all of his children, that's why when this world as we know it comes to an end he has a grand plan for ALL of us to be with Him. I don't have an answer as to why some suffer on a much grander scale than others and neither does anyone else but no matter what we've suffered through we will all come out on the great side of eternal life eventually. Yes, I am a Universalist but I'm also a realist and what is to come before the Lord returns is far from "heaven", it will literally be hell on earth. Best to get to know Jesus Christ as Savior now because he is the ONLY calm that there is now or will be in the future. He is our refuge.

That's hilarious. He wouldn't be a God then; He'd be a dictator.

The Holy Spirit is a Heavenly Spirit on the earth, and he is the one within anointed believers of Christ.....

Yes the holy spirit resides within believers according to the scriptures, but when Jesus said those words he had not yet died and he had not yet resurrected and ascended to heaven and sent the holy spirit to comfort believers.

Jesus said "the kingdom of God IS within you", not "the kingdom of God WILL BE within you" ...

Default Copy/pasted from another thread!

Let's...for just a moment...take the Creator out of the equation...and just focus on this..."LOVE" your neighbor as you love yourself...

~Do good unto your neighbor so they in turn do good unto you...

We were created to inhabit this earth...when "ALL" adhere to the ^^^...earth/paradise will become "heavenly" indeed...this is pure logic minus "religion!

The kingdom of heaven is within your power to realize here on earth!

Luke 10:28 And Jesus said, This do and you shall live!

P.S. The likes of June and Dewdrop understood this very well...

Peace!
