No it's not nonsense. The fact is there needs to be a lot more research done before it can be concluded that someone is "born gay" or has a genetic variation that makes one a homosexual.
The problem is that politics has taken over the narrative.
The research pretty much all agrees it's biological. Not to mention ask most gay people and they'll tell you they never chose it.
Just because you have thoughts about being a star quarterback or an astronaut does not make you those things. Nor does thinking about robbing a bank or killing someone who has harmed you make you a robber or murderer (by man's laws). We all have thought about things we will never do or be. Those thoughts do not transform us into those things.

Not really. Enough research has been done to be pretty comfortable in saying that sexual orientation is biological, not a choice and not 'caused' by parenting, and can't be 'cured' with quack therapy or praying-away-the-gay.
It doesn't actually even matter anymore for most people. The only people who 'need' sexual orientation to be some kind of 'choice' which is 'changeable' are those who make a deliberate choice to remain ignorant so they can keep bashing gay and lesbian people over the heads with their Bibles and discriminate against them. They don't want to know the truth.

That's it in a nutshell.
Judgmental, bigoted people will turn a blind eye towards anything that might require them to give up their prejudice.
They are small-minded and intent on remaining that way.
here i am after the Supreme Court Ruling, asking this AGAIN.
Everyone has had homosexual thoughts at some point, but they did not dwell on it enough to actually comitting the sin(same sex)
James 1: 15
ames 1:13-15New International Version (NIV)
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

And the point remains that there is a range of response. When the question is not about experimenting with sex, but about a commitment to a life then we need to ask why a commitment to a homosexual relationship is any more wrong than a commitment to a heterosexual one. The difference is between absolute attraction and curiosity and passing curiostiy is not a factor in making commitments.

Thoughts do not lead to action. Many people have bizarre thoughts and never act, that does not mean anything.
But who a person is --that does not change. A cow is always a cow, even if it dances like a camel.

If you are a Fundamentalist Christian the rule of thumb is, if it feels good, STOP!

Evidently, you have not given much thought to the subject.
It goes beyond what you think, or have been taught to believe.
