As a mater of fact I do see a God of pure love in the bible, but I also see Him in nature and the world around me.

God told the RCC to hold the crusades and if they did not bow to kill all the infidels.

If you believe that I got some ocean front property in Arizona. LOL

A little bit of humor, but it is with a point to make. Just because people say God said this and God said that, God did this and God did that does not mean God had any part in it. People always try to justify what they do by saying God......

I think it's great that you appear to be doing what sensible, liberal Christians do - cherry-pick which parts of the bible and which depictions of its God(s) make sense to you. You ignore/de-emphasize the psycho OT Father god and celebrate his more sensible son/self, Jesus.

Liberal Christians tend to focus on love, peace, inclusion etc.

My beef is with those who cherry-pick the parts that emphasize psycho father god. Those Christians focus on sin, the apocalypse, exclusion and hell.

I understand that people would see what I believe as cherry picking, but if you mean by cherry picking that I only use scripture that backs up my belief and deny those that do not you would be wrong.

I just understand and use the bible in a different manner then I was taught how to use it.

IMO, what you do, despite being irrational, is not going to harm anyone as long as you are honest when presenting the bible as a whole. It is fiction. Parts of it you want to believe. But, presenting it as truth will make me get my stick out. I hope you are as nice as you seem.

Maat all I do is write what I see, I leave it up to you to decide if there is truth in it or not.

Did you see Jesus rise from the dead?
Did you witness the flood?
Have you any evidence that this God exists?

There are many people who believe in big foots. Have said they have seen them, yet, we have 0 evidence they exist. Things written in books are not evidence of a supernatural being. To think otherwise, is blind faith. The same faith many humans believe in other religions such as Hinduism, Shintos, Buddhism etc.
